Counselling

Space to understand what's really going on.

Counselling gives you a confidential space to talk openly with a trained professional. Rather than only managing how you feel, we look at what sits underneath it — your experiences, patterns, relationships and circumstances — so change can last.

What to expect

Clear, gentle and shaped around you.

  1. 01

    A first conversation

We start by listening. You share what's brought you here, and we talk about what you hope might change.

  2. 02

    Understanding the context

Together we look beyond the symptom — at the situations, patterns and pressures that shape how you feel.

  3. 03

    Working at your pace

Sessions are shaped around you. There's no script, and nothing you're expected to have figured out already.

  4. 04

    Change beyond the session

We focus on insight and practical steps you can carry into everyday life.

FAQs

Good to know.

How do I know if counselling is right for me?

If something has been weighing on you — your mood, your relationships, work, or simply a sense that things aren't right — counselling can help. You don't need to be in crisis to benefit. If you're unsure, our Find the Right Support guide can help you think it through, or you can simply get in touch.

What happens in the first session?

The first session is a conversation. We'll ask about what's brought you here, what you'd like to be different and any practical preferences. You can share as much or as little as you're comfortable with, and you're welcome to ask us anything.

Is counselling confidential?

Yes. What you share stays between you and your practitioner, within standard professional limits — for example if there's a serious risk to your safety or someone else's. These limits are explained clearly before you begin.

Is counselling the same as diagnosis or psychiatric treatment?

No. Counselling is a talking-based form of support. It isn't a diagnostic or medical service. If it seems another type of support would serve you better, we'll tell you openly.
